PSA: Important Change in Price Adjustment Policy

As most Costco shoppers know, if the price of an item you purchase at Costco goes down within 30 days from when you bought it, you are eligible to receive the difference in price as a refund if you bring in your receipt and ask for it.

HOWEVER, there is a new EXCEPTION to that rule. If the item in question goes on clearance (price ends in .97), they will NO LONGER just refund you the price differential.

In this case, you must return the item you purchased to request a full refund, then you must go back into the store and re-purchase the item at the clearance price.

Not only is this much more inconvenient, it also greatly decreases your chance of success in finding the exact same item if it’s clothing. They may not have your size anymore in the warehouse.

We’re not sure how long this new policy has been in place at our local Costco, but you may want to check yours before you request a price adjustment.
