Costco narrowly avoids strike!

Costco and the Teamsters union, representing 18,000 Costco workers, narrowly avoided a strike at 56 stores across six states over the weekend. They reached a tentative agreement just before the contract expired.

While the specifics aren't public yet, the union was fighting for better wages and benefits, plus improvements to things like family leave, sick time, and job security. This strike would have been the biggest ever at a retail chain, and the first for Costco.  

Even though a deal was reached, it's not a done deal yet. The union members still have to vote to approve it. While Costco is known for good pay and benefits, the Teamsters are using the company's record profits to push for even better conditions. They even held rallies with signs saying, "Record profits = record contract!"
