And no, his name isn’t Tiny, or Bubba, or The Rock - this new gatekeeper is electronic in fact - and it is even stricter than its human counterparts.

A Costco in Washington is testing out membership card scanners at the entrance, potentially saving everyone from awkward ID checks and the "oops, forgot it’s my spouse/child/housemate's card" shuffle while everyone in the checkout line stares.

While some worry about wait times and data tracking, most seem to be cheering for this potential game-changer. Of course, nothing's set in stone yet, but this pilot program might just be the key to smoother shopping for all Costco enthusiasts.
